Dinner Meeting – Guest Speaker Valerie Smith-Orr OAM

The Guest Speaker for our Rotary Dinner meeting tonight will be Valerie (Val) Smith-Orr OAM, Clinical Nurse Specialising in ENB 264 Burns and Plastic Surgery.

Val has sent the last 25 years dedicating her life to burns cases and to children born with congenital abnormalities in the Philippines. In 2014 she was made an honorary Rotarian because of her work with burns cases. In June 2020 ,Val was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for her services to the International community through nursing. She is the first and currently only Australian to have had the OAM investiture in the Philippines, at the residence of the then Australian Ambassador Steve Robinson AO.
